Ishtar Sat or Shame Sat !!!

Article was originally written in Arabic by Adel Mahmoud Abdallah on March 14, 2008 since then nothing has significantly changed and that is why this article is still relevant to the conditions under which the Assyrians with all their denominations are passing through in their land (today's Iraq).
Some may be outraged by me when I refer to this satellite channel as being a shameful one because it is un fair to equate Ishtar’s deeply rooted name in history with the name given to this channel since it has nothing to do with Ishtar’s noble name which represented godliness, love, fertility and all other qualities which she was known by.
This satellite channel is but a tool for purposely distorting Ishtar’s name and it doesn’t belong to the descendants of Babylon and Assyria (Ashur), as the misleading propaganda claimed. As I watched its programs, my personal observation became that this channel was created to diminish and defame the history, place, and culture of this noble people, also distorting historical names. I have read about and known this noble people recognized worldwide as the founder of civilization, culture, and sciences, this people invented writing, the wheel, laid the foundations of mathematics, advanced astronomy and mythology etc … Alas, but this so-called satellite channel appears to be soaring away from the culture and civilization of this people except for presenting some religious programming while the rest is dancing, parties from here and there as well as private weddings transmitted from Diaspora with people clothed in attire far from decency, un related to the culture and traditions of this eastern people.
This satellite channel is doing all this in order to present or create a bad impression regarding the history of the Assyrians with all their denominations, as if this people does not care about the murders, abductions, sanctity violations, bombings, terrorism, displacement, famine, and diseases affecting all Iraqis with their different ethnicities. This is how this (shameful satellite channel) presents the Assyrians with all their denominations although they also are suffering from the on going conflicts.
Some may agree or disagree with me, however, it is my personal opinion that this satellite channel is greatly and clearly damaging to this people, its name, traditions and sometimes it presents this people as if they are foreigners to the rest of the people around them, this Ishtar Sat is considered one of the reasons for provoking fanatics, promoting hatred and sedition amongst the rest of Iraq’s sects, as if it didn’t care for the daily blood shed in the Iraqi streets, alleys, neighborhoods, and cities since it appears as inconsiderate to all those who watch its dancing, drinking parties while the wounded Iraq passes through its darkest days.
Incidentally, as I was writing these lines I regrettably heard about the killing of Archbishop Mr. Faraj Rahho of the Chaldean church in Mosul, may he rest in peace.
Following a research, investigation and inquiring from some friends of this dear people to our hearts regarding this abnormal situation, I had several questions but one which worried me was, this people gave the best to mankind, founded the largest civilization, and wrote laws, how can it be that there is no one to speak for this people and convey to Iraqis and the world that which reflects the good reputation and truly represents the existence of this noble people?
I learned later that this channel which is called a Sat. is owned by the Kurdish “democratic” party, and is run by its regionalist finance minister Sargis Beg Aghajan who is one of the leading cadres of the aforementioned party and that Mr. Massoud Barzani depends on him to pass his agenda, thus Aghajan is but a propaganda bugle for that party to portray to people and specially those who are naïve amongst the Assyrians with all their different denominations, that the Kurdish party is working for them. Indeed, if things continue the way they are then Aghajan shall succeed in completing his duties and I have one evidence in a series which proves the extent of the danger of this satellite channel and this minister who has succeeded in passing the agenda through senior clergy who convincingly bestowed medals upon him since those represent more than half of the people, as for the rest who are affiliated with secularists and politicians they are few and don’t have the necessary means to expose the intentions of this minister (the follower) and he succeeded to an extent through this satellite of shame to report a false, slandering image of the indigenous people of Mesopotamia, which resulted in murder, torture, abduction, slaughter, and intimidation.
