Injustice and the lost Assyrian right in the Dictionary of the Defeated

26-07-2009

The article was originally written in Arabic by Albert Sliwa and it's presented here for its pertinence to the current state of Assyrian affairs.

When political ideology dispersed different segments of the Assyrian society and distanced a lot of potential from contributing to and defending both the national and human existence, it became certain through many indicators and proofs that there is a despicable scheme which has been approved by more than one side based on some kind of a strategy which is nothing more than the offshoots of some beggars who bowed their heads, enveloping themselves in vacuum and waste. Hence, they added to their crimes, carried their devil, sense of loss, and an advanced state of inferiority, those jesters lacks everything except nothing and think that they will climb forts, castles, and high mountains then they would destroy the nation and its rights.

In light of global and regional developments which are invested in the interest of strengthening the administrative, political and economic capacity of the Kurdish entity giving it the ability to continue its policy based on systematic fraud, settlements, hegemony and penetration of our political parties and institutions afflicted with the failure of their national developmental project which would have given them immunity for confrontation and asserted their existence.

The critical challenges facing our Assyrian nation require action and different mechanisms in its structure and work different from the classical political work, which preaches what it doesn’t do and writes about that which it doesn’t believe in. Perhaps the greatest achievement of modern Assyrian thought in the shadow of division was embodied in blaming the frustrated self, gulping defeats which translated into a wobbling fragmented political speech, contrary to the reasons and goals for which these Assyrian national factions were created.

In the absence of clear Assyrian concepts (except the concepts and principles of national and political work found in the speech, literature and ideas of Assyria National Assembly – ANA ASHUR) and in the absence of a common language to promote awareness regarding the massacres and injustices which befell the Assyrians throughout the history of conflict, we find that the Kurdish speech to the world tries to draw attention to the injustices induced by the Kurds which they want to invest to their advantage in equality with peoples who have been truly subjected to injustices.

The Kurds want to delude the international community that their imaginary lands were usurped following the establishment of the Iraqi State in 1921 while they are the intruders and that is what the Kurdish institution is investing very well to gain political, economical, and administrative support to continue with their control over the Occupied Assyrian lands, practicing all forms of domination, arrogance and oppression against our Assyrian people, deceiving the international public opinion with their non-existent “democracy”, then comes the weak, unprepared, dispersed Assyrian response without depending on any strategy to present and market the facts in a considerate and persuasive manner to influence the international public opinion, because the Assyrians possess the right and proof that their lands are truly usurped and that they have been continuously subjected to campaigns aimed at their extermination so that their voice would not be heard, and the attempts continue against them at different levels.

If all these parties and organizations had worked with determination and true faith in the Assyrian sacred Cause on applying the slogans which they carried over years and decades, we as Assyrians with all our factions would have been proud of these accomplishments, but instead of pride it is the curse of the Assyrian Cause and future Assyrian generations which shall follow all those in contempt who bargained and sold the Assyrian Cause and land for personal material or power gains. Those know themselves well and even if they deny their horrible role, the curses of orphans, the bereaved, the widows and the displaced shall follow them every hour, minute and second and if the curses of those alive aren’t enough then the curses of the martyrs shall follow them as well.

Dedication in work, a short title with a great and deep meaning, sincerity goes for everything as it goes for politics, especially for those who hold positions, and the leaders of political parties as well as the different movements and committees. Loyalty, sacrifice, and selflessness in national activity and working for the benefit of all, the sanctity and faithfulness in taking up responsibility are the most important conditions which must be fulfilled by those who want to work in the national domain.

History shall in all honesty reveal all those faithful who worked and sacrificed their personal interests melting in sincere labor for the greater national interests and history shall as well reveal all the selfish, defeated traitors who put their personal interests above every other consideration without a hint of consciousness that is when all shall have their proper place.
