An Assyrian young man shot and killed in Mosul

A security source in Nineveh police said that an Assyrian Christian young man was killed in Mosul on Sunday evening. The source added that unknown gunmen opened fire at Ryan Salem Bashir outside his home in al-Meshraq neighbourhood, eastern Mosul. The victim had just returned home from work and was entering his home when he was shot and killed.
May he rest in peace and may his family be consoled.
The majority of Iraq’s Christians, are Assyrians, affiliated with different Churches and since the U.S. led invasion in March 2003, they have been subjected to severe acts of violence and as they form the weakest link in the Iraqi mosaic, they've been continuously ignored and marginalized by the local and foreign authorities which are governing Iraq at present in addition to being obscured by the media
