The body of an Assyrian Christian man who had been abducted for almost a week was found in northern Mosul city on Saturday, according to a police source in Nineveh. “Policemen found the body of a Christian in the area of al-Siddiq neighborhood, northern Mosul. It showed signs of having been shot in the head,” the source said.
“Adnan Hanna al-Dahan, 55, had been kidnapped from inside his own store, adjacent to his house, in al-Baladiyat neighborhood, northern Mosul, on February 13,” the source noted.
May he rest in peace and may his family be consoled.
The majority of Iraq’s Christians, are Assyrians, affiliated with different Churches and since the U.S. led invasion in March 2003, they have been subjected to severe acts of violence and as they form the weakest link in the Iraqi mosaic, they've been continuously ignored and marginalized by the local and foreign authorities which are governing Iraq at present in addition to being obscured by the media.
