Antiquities smuggler arrested in Kut

A smuggler has been captured with stolen antiquities in his possession in Kut City, a local security source said on Tuesday.“The man, arrested in the Central Kut parking garage, had 21 pieces of antiquities in his possession,” the source added. The man was planning to smuggle the antiquities to an unknown destination.
Kut, the capital city of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of Baghdad.
