The body of an abducted Assyrian man found in Nimrud

Security and medical sources said that the body of an Assyrian man was found Friday afternoon in Nimrud. The victim was abducted last Friday from Hamdaniya town eastern Mosul. Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Omar al-Jubouri of the Mosul police said: "The body of the Assyrian man Louai Behnam el-Malek, 35 years old was found shot in the head and left in a barren land in the Nimrud area southern Mosul". Al-Jubouri added:"The victim's family didn't inform the police and had negotiated secretly with the kidnappers for a ransom in the amount of $15000 Dollars in the hopes that their son would be released last Tuesday but to no avail".
