Sniper kills U.S. soldier in Tikrit before combat troops withdrawal

A sniper killed a U.S. soldier in central Tikrit on Tuesday, a source from the Salah al-Din police department said. “The incident occurred during the visit of the U.S. command in Salah al-Din to the police station in central Tikrit on the occasion of the end of U.S. combat troops’ mission in Iraq,” the source said.
The death has brought to 4375 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003.
