Iraq’s inflation rate up by 0.2% in July

The inflation rate in Iraq rose by 0.2% last July, compared with the previous month of June, according to a statement issued by the Planning Ministry’s Central Statistics Board on Tuesday. “The Central Statistics Board has issued its report on inflation for the month of July, 2010, that was prepared on the basis of statements collected for the prices of commodities and services for the consumer basket of selected sales areas,” the statement said. The statement added that the consumer prices record had reached 122.9 in July, 2010, with 0.2% rise, compared with the month of June, and more than 1.7% rise, compared with July, 2009. The statement also reiterated that the inflation rate had registered 124.0, with a 0.2% rise last July, compared with June 2010, and 1.7% rise, compared with July 2009.
